NCERTBooks.org respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of this site to do the same. This page explains what we host, what we link to, and the process for reporting a copyright concern.
What We Host vs. What We Link To
NCERT textbook chapters, front-matter sections, and whole-book downloads referenced on this site are linked directly to NCERT’s own official server (ncert.nic.in). We do not host these copyrighted textbook PDF files on our own servers or redistribute them from our own infrastructure. Where our site displays original material — such as chapter summaries, study guides, or FAQ content — that material is written by our own team and is not a copy of NCERT’s textbook text.
Reporting a Copyright Concern
If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on a copyright owner’s behalf, and believe that content on this site infringes your copyright, please send us a written notice that includes the following information so we can properly investigate:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the specific material on our site that you claim is infringing, including the exact URL(s), so we can locate it.
- Your contact information — at minimum, an email address and, where possible, an address and phone number.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on their behalf.
Please send this notice to: admin@ncertbooks.org
We aim to review and respond to valid, complete notices as promptly as we reasonably can. Because our site links directly to NCERT’s own official server rather than hosting textbook files ourselves, many copyright questions relate to how a chapter is described or linked on our site rather than to a file we control — in these cases, we will review and, where appropriate, correct or remove the specific reference in question.
Counter-Notification
If you believe material was removed or restricted as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. A counter-notification should include your name, contact information, identification of the material and its location before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court. Please send counter-notifications to the same address above.
Repeat Concerns
In appropriate circumstances, we will act on repeated, verified copyright concerns relating to the same material by removing or updating the relevant page or reference.
Educational, Non-Commercial Use
This site is operated as a free, non-commercial educational index intended to help students, parents, and teachers locate official NCERT textbook material more easily. Nothing on this page should be read as a claim of ownership over NCERT’s textbook content, which remains the property of NCERT and the Government of India.
