A: Materials can be classified based on physical properties such as hardness, transparency, solubility in water, lustre (shine), and their ability to conduct electricity or heat.
Hardness and Softness

A: A substance is soluble in a liquid if it dissolves completely in it to form a uniform mixture. For example, salt and sugar are soluble in water, while sand and chalk powder are insoluble in water.

Q: State one difference between metals and non-metals.
A: Most metals (like iron and copper) are good conductors of electricity and heat and have a shiny (lustrous) appearance, while most non-metals (like wood and plastic) are poor conductors of electricity and heat and are generally not shiny.
