Melting and Freezing

A: Melting is the change of a solid into a liquid on gaining heat; ice melts into water at 0°C. Freezing is the reverse change of a liquid into a solid on losing heat; water freezes into ice at 0°C as well — the same temperature works both ways depending on direction of heat flow.
The Water Cycle
Q: Briefly describe the water cycle.
A: Heat from the Sun evaporates water from oceans, rivers and lakes into water vapour, which rises and cools in the atmosphere to condense into tiny droplets, forming clouds. These droplets combine and eventually fall back to Earth as rain, snow, or other precipitation, before flowing back into water bodies to repeat the cycle.
