Q: Write names of five colourful flowers in your area. For example, Palash is called Kesuda in Gujarat.
A: Sample answer: Marigold (Genda), Hibiscus (Gudhal), Rose (Gulab), Jasmine (Chameli), and Lotus (Kamal) — students should list flowers common to their own region and their local names.

Q: Make the model of a house using materials from nature, such as clay, wooden sticks, hay, grass, leaves, etc. Decorate it with an art form of your choice.
A: Students build a small model hut using natural materials (clay walls, twig/stick frame, dried grass or leaf roof) and decorate it with simple traditional art patterns.

Q: Prepare a natural dye by collecting plant materials, boiling them, and using the resulting liquid to colour cloth.
A: Step 1 — collect plant material such as turmeric, beetroot peel, or marigold petals. Step 2 — boil it in water until the colour releases into the water. Step 3 — dip a piece of plain cloth into the coloured water and let it dry to see the natural dye colour it.

Q: Find out some traditional ways of preserving grains and vegetables at your place, and fill the following table.
A: Sample answer: Grains are dried in the sun and stored in sealed metal or clay containers with neem leaves to prevent insects; vegetables like mango and lemon are preserved as pickles using salt, oil and spices; some vegetables are sun-dried (like papad or vadiyan) for long storage.

Q: Discuss with the elders in your family and write the name of the plant, its parts, and its uses in the table given below.
A: Sample answer: Neem — leaves and bark used for medicine and skin care; Tulsi — leaves used to treat cold and cough; Aloe vera — gel used for skin burns and hair care; Turmeric — root/rhizome used as a spice and antiseptic.

A: Cotton, bandages, antiseptic liquid/cream, adhesive tape, scissors, a thermometer, and basic pain-relief ointment.

A: First-aid stops small injuries from becoming worse, controls bleeding or pain quickly, and can save time before a doctor’s help is available.

Q: Find out the traditional dances and songs of your region. Perform a traditional dance with the help of your classmates and teachers.
A: Sample answer: students research a regional dance form (for example Garba, Bihu, or Bhangra) and its traditional songs, then perform a short version in class.

A: We would have to use candles or lanterns at night, food in the fridge could spoil, fans and appliances would not work, and daily activities like studying or charging phones would become much harder.

A: Sample answer: festivals like Nag Panchami (worship of snakes), Tulsi Vivah (worship of the Tulsi plant), and Pongal (thanksgiving involving cattle) celebrate the bond between people, plants and animals.
