What this chapter teaches.
Spotting a pattern (a sequence that repeats in a predictable way); extending a pattern (continuing it correctly); creating a new pattern using shapes, colours, or numbers; and counting festival-related objects, such as the number of lanterns, sweets, or balloons in a scene.

Activity 1 — Spot the Pattern.
Children look at a row of shapes or colours (for example, red-blue-red-blue-red-…) and identify what comes next. The rule is to look for what repeats and continue it the same way.

Activity 2 — Make Your Own Pattern.
Using colours, shapes, or objects at home (buttons, beads, or drawings), children create their own repeating pattern, such as circle-square-circle-square.

Activity 3 — Count the Festival Items.
The book uses festival scenes (like counting diyas at Diwali or balloons at a birthday party) to give children more counting practice within the numbers they already know.
